Nowadays, many adolescents tend to try out something new without considering its consequences in the future. For instance, trying out vapes. Vaping is the inhaling of a vapor created by an electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) or other vaping device. E-cigarettes are battery powered smoking devices. They have cartridges filled with a liquid that usually contains nicotine, flavorings and chemicals. The liquid is heated into a vapor, which the person inhales. Vaping has not been around long enough to know how it affects the body over time. However, health experts are reporting serious lung damage and man more sickness in people who vape, including some deaths.
Firstly, vaping should be banned among the teenagers because it can affect one’s health physically caused by the liquid content inside of the e-cigarettes. Vaping may contribute to increased risk of disruption to reproductive health. Disorders of reproduction include reduced fertility and impotence. Moreover, other forms of illicit drugs, such as heroin and marijuana, have been found mixed in e-juice in e-cigarettes. Besides, vaping only increased the heart rates of the participants and stiffened   their arteries.
Secondly, vaping should be banned among the teenagers because it can disturb their studies and learning process especially cognitive. This is because the high levels of nicotine making vaping is extremely addictive. Teenagers’ brains are still developing, making it easy for them to get addicted than adults. Apart from this, vaping initially increases their alertness and attention, but then experience a decrease in attention span. As well as that, nicotine in the e-juice can harm the parts of the brain that handle memory, attention and learning.Youth and young adults now are also at elevated risk of exposing their developing brains to nicotine for long-term, long-lasting effects. This is because nicotine often affects the formation of synapses, which can affect the brain parts that regulate awareness and learning.
Thirdly vaping should be banned among the teenagers because teens who vape are much more likely to start smoking cigarettes.young people who have never smoked traditional cigarettes take up e-cigarettes that are available in more than 1,500 flavours, including bubble gum and candy floss. To add more, the packaging of the e-juice is very enticing the way they look, so teens think 95% is water weight or vapor, so the packaging does little to convey the risks. In addition to this, smoking still positively portrayed in movies, and most vape juice sellers in particular has rebranded it to make vaping an even cooler alternative. Furthermore, one problem with vaping is that teens hear it is not as bad as smoking cigarettes for your health. Also, teenagers think that vape juice are mostly flavours and that they are inhaling a pleasant gas.
On the other hand, e-cigarette manufacturers claim they are helping adult smokers to quit smoking. However, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not approve e-cigarettes as an aid to quit smoking. This is because so far, there is limited evidence that e-cigarettes are effective to help smokers quit so far. Nevertheless, there are other proven, safe and effective ways to quit smoking. One way to start is to discuss the best strategies for the smokers is by doing a consultation with a doctor, nurse or a trained quit-line counsellor. Not only that, each country needs to take a stand, not only to track, but also to regulate the use of vapes; especially on illegal goods and online marketing that are now prevalent. To add on, kids must never be subjected to smoking, accessories must be child proof, and those marketing to children must be subject to harsh penalties. For consumers, appropriate branding must be followed, requiring adults to shop only.
In a nutshell, vape should be banned among teenagers because of so many relevant reasons including it can affect one’s health physically, disturbing their cognitive abilities and they will likely to start smoking cigarettes.
