ALOR GAJAH - The Malacca State Secretary, YB Datuk Seri Hasim bin Hasan, arranged a groundbreaking ceremony at the Malacca branch of UiTM, Alor Gajah campus, to officiate Baitul Awqaf, witnessed by the Chief Minister of Malacca, YAB Tuan Hj. On December 12, 2019, Adly bin Zahari, UiTM branch rector Malacca, Professor Dr. Abd Halim Bin Mohd Noor, deputy rector, and UiTM branch supreme officer Melaka.

According to Dr. Amirul Azwan bin Abdul Aziz, the project concept was from the rector a long time ago, but in 2019 the project was new and began 4 weeks ago, the project is in the 6-12-month schedule to be financially ready as it relies on the funds to insure that this Waqaf project is going well.

In the preparation, "Dataran Keusahawanan" will provide 6-8 booths to be reserved for student entrepreneurship events by each faculty.
Research Garden is an environment designed specifically for research practices by students and lecturers.

The groundbreaking ceremony lasted about 7-10 minutes tops as the VIPs only took several photos and signed the plaque and ended with the gimmick of the "groundbreaking".

The groundbreaking ceremony was seamless and was open to all, from lecturers and teachers, to fundraising.

Personally, this is a great initiative from the authorities to benefits the students in a very remarkably well way. The citizens have UTC (Urban Transformation Centre), but UiTM Alor Gajah students have their own Baitul Awqaf.

This will be a great oppurtunity for the students to create more activities in the future for better learning purposes.
